Reliquaire paperolles De Sainte Barbe – circa 1800

Dans un remarquable montage en papiers roulés et dorés, représentant un retable complet, nous retrouvons au centre, un médaillon en Gloire, présentant une relique de Sainte Barbara, Martyre.
Sainte Barbe ou Barara, martyre du IIIe siècle, est aujourd’hui en France, la Patronne des sapeurs-pompiers.
Ce type de reliquaire représentant un ostensoir pourrait être l’œuvre des Ursulines.
Il s’agit d’un travail de la fin du XVIIIe ou du tout début XIXe.
L’ensemble est de qualité et en excellent état, dans un simple cadre en bois doré bien préservé.

In a remarkable montage of rolled and gilded papers, representing a complete altarpiece, we find in the center, a medallion in Glory, presenting a relic of Saint Barbara, Martyr.
Saint Barbara or Barara, martyr of the 3rd century, is today in France, the Patron Saint of firefighters.
This type of reliquary representing a monstrance could be the work of the Ursulines.
It is a work of the end of the 18th or the very beginning of the 19th.
The whole is of quality and in excellent condition, in a simple frame of well-preserved gilded wood.
