Paire De Bustes Reliquaires St Jean Baptiste Et St François – XVIIIe

Un travail Italien de la fin du XVIIe ou du début XVIIIe. Nos deux bustes quasi identiques, forment une belle paire  en bois sculpté, polychromé et doré. Ils accueillent en leur centre, un cartouche vitré qui honore une rare relique ex-ossibus de Saint Jean Baptiste pour l’un et une relique de Saint François (Francis en Italien) pour le second.
Au dos, l’accès à ces niches reliquaires sont protégées par trois sceaux de cire.

An Italian work from the end of the 17th or the beginning of the 18th century.
Our two almost identical busts form a beautiful pair in carved, polychromed and gilded wood.
They accommodate in their center, a glazed cartouche which honors a rare ex-ossibus relic of Saint John the Baptist for one and a relic of Saint Francis (Francis in Italian) for the second. On the back, access to these reliquary niches is protected by three wax seals.
