Ce travail Italien de la fin du XVe ou du début XVIe est saisissant d'expressivité. Notre représentation du Christ de Pitié en bois est sculptée ronde-bosse. Jésus attend alors son supplice. Etape de la Passion, il vient d’être dépouillé de ses vêtements et n’est maintenant vêtu que d’un périzonium (station X du chemin de croix). Il sera bientôt hissé sur la Croix (station XI). Un buste à la remarquable polychromie. Dimensions importantes pour cette œuvre avec une hauteur de 97 cm sur 45 de large et 46 cm de profondeur.
