Imposant ostensoir en vermeil – XIXe

Le piètement de notre ostensoir est richement décoré de motifs floraux en fort relief, au milieu desquels trône un magnifique Salvator Mundi auquel répond la Vierge portant un Agnus Dei. L’ensemble est sommé d’une croix finement ciselée. Une production du maitre orfèvre Armand Caillat, vers 1869. Présence du poinçon du maitre A.C.S. avec une abeille et poinçon argent 950/1000. Une page d’histoire accompagne cette belle pièce avec la présence d’une intéressante marque de propriété, celle d’un zouave pontifical.  Le baron Vital Rochetaillée, né à Roanne en 1839 fut officier d’infanterie puis Conseiller général de la Loire. Il se mit au service du pape Pie IX. Poids total brut de 2066 grammes. Dimensions de 79 cm de haut sur 36 cm de large et 21.5 cm de profondeur. Etat d’usage - sans lunule Référence 872

The whole is topped by a finely chasedcross. A production of master silversmith Armand Caillat, circa 1869. Presence ofA.C.S. hallmark with a bee and 950/1000 silver hallmark. A page of history accompanies this beautiful piece with the presence of an interestinginteresting mark of ownership, that of a pontifical zouave. Baron Vital Rochetaillée, born in Roanne in 1839, was an infantry officerthen General Councillor of the Loire. He entered the service of PopePius IX. Total gross weight: 2066 grams.
