Grand Christ en bois sculpté – XVIIIe

Belle réalisation que cette école espagnole de la fin du XVIIe ou du début XVIIIe, probablement  en noyer et présentant une patine ancienne brun foncé.
On notera le fin visage de Jésus, ici représenté dans toute sa sérénité et revêtu de son seul périzonium.
La sculpture est ronde-bosse. Elle était autrefois partiellement dorée.
Etat d’usage - quelques manques au niveau des doigts notamment.
Dimensions de 85 cm avec une envergure de 88 cm.

A fine piece of work from this Spanish school from the late 17th or early 18th century, probably made of walnut and with an old dark brown patina. Note the delicate face of Jesus, depicted here in all his serenity and wearing only his perizonium.
The sculpture is in the round and was once partially gilded. Used condition - some missing parts, especially on the fingers. Dimensions: 85 cm with a wingspan of 88 cm.
