L’adoration Des Rois Mages – Circa 1700

Une douce polychromie pour cette huile sur cuivre d’une école Flamande du tout début XVIIIe. La composition compacte et dynamique met en scène la Vierge Marie en robe rose et manteau bleu, présentant l'Enfant aux trois mages. Le premier d’entre eux, agenouillé au premier plan, est revêtu d'un manteau d'or et d'hermine, ayant déposé sa couronne au sol. Derrière lui, le second mage tient un calice doré, tandis que le troisième, coiffé d'un turban élaboré à l'orientale, complète le cortège sur la gauche. A soft polychromy characterizes this oil on copper painting from a Flemish school of the very early18th century. The compact and dynamic composition depicts the Virgin Mary in a pink dress and blue cloak, presenting the Child to the three Magi. The first of them, kneeling in the foreground, is clad in a gold and ermine cloak, havinglaid his crown on the ground. Behind him, the second Magi holds a gilded, while the third, wearing an elaborate Oriental-style turban,completes the procession on the left.
